Survivors Empowered Inc, the nonprofit organization, originated from an idea within Gabrielle's church trauma group. As the group considered ways to give back to the community, Gabrielle proposed organizing a grand festival. The festival's purpose was to raise funds to sponsor sexual violence survivors, allowing them to engage in programs similar to those that aided Gabrielle's recovery at The Meadows Behavioral Health after her assault. This idea unfolded into something more significant than initially anticipated.

Gabrielle shared her vision with her closest friends, unwavering pillars of support, strength, and guidance throughout her survivor journey. Chelsea and Gabrielle, friends for over 30 years. Kelsey, Gabrielle's cherished sister-in-law for over a decade, is also an integral part of this initiative. Jen, who served as Gabrielle's maid of honor, has been her friend for more than 15 years.

Wendy, a crucial figure in Gabrielle's healing journey, for over two years. Wendy led the first support group Gabrielle attended after The Meadows, a group that continues to significantly impact her ongoing healing.

Unified, the board members possess a diverse skill set, empowering them to effect positive change in the lives of others. Each member is deeply committed to aiding sexual violence survivors in receiving the necessary support to navigate their healing journey. Additionally, Survivors Empowered Inc. plans to raise funds for other nonprofits that share the same overarching mission.
