My parents never knew what I looked like. They were both blind since childhood, yet they lived the American Dream. Dad was an attorney and Judge, while Mom ran the household and raised four sighted children. I wrote their story in The Sound of Her Voice: My Blind Parents' Story.
I'm a graduate of the University of Virginia, with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Houston. After 43 years in the same house in Houston, I moved to Colorado Springs with my partner. I love my new home, where I can see Pikes Peak from all over the house!
