Executive Director

As a survivor of the Columbine shooting who was present in the library, Heidi Johnson has a unique take on trauma and mental health resulting from mass violence. As school shootings persist in our nation, she is a voice on what is needed for the immediate survivors and collective society. After the shooting, she spoke across the US, wrote a book, and appeared on several news channels, all under the age of 19, and she continues to do interviews on many forums to this day.
Heidi is also a global development practitioner with an MBA and Master's in Development Practice. She has established programs that protect children who are both growing up in the sex industry or from ever entering the sex industry in South and Southeast Asia and programs that combat neonatal and infant mortality in sub-Saharan Africa. She has traveled the world, opening revolutionary programs that provide better outcomes for children in some of the world's hardest places.
