Bio
My name is Claribel Coreano, I am a Transformational Life Coach, writer, and Artist. First, I would like to share a little snippet of my bio. I am a native of the Dominican Republic, born in Santiago, I moved to New York City with my family at the age of 8 years old and we then relocated to Connecticut after 6 years of living in Manhattan, NYC. I received a master’s degree in Human Services with concentration on Marriage & Family Therapy & Psychology from the Capella University, I completed several Life Coach certifications, from Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, Tempe, Arizona 2015. Additional certifications, Certified Life Coaching NLP, and Women’s Empowerment Life Coaching. Prior to completing the Life Coaching Certification, I have worked in the social services field for over 27 years, working first with HIV/Aids Population. When I first began my career when it was during the beginning of the epidemic, and after 3 years, I changed to working with the homeless population, those suffering with Mental Health, substance abuse and other socioeconomic problems. I have worked both with individuals, youth, Veterans and with families. I raised four sons, one of which has served the country in active war in Afghanistan and who is now a disabled an Army Veteran. My oldest is a Coordinator for a Health care agency, my third son is a licensed optical design and dispensing technician, and my youngest is a successful business owner and Personal Trainer.
On a personal level
In my spare time, I dedicate myself to my hobbies which are writing and painting. I started painting in 2002 and progressively got better skilled in painting. I considered myself an intuitive artist and this is because I have not been professionally trained as a painter. Most of my paintings come from my imagination and with no training or knowledge of mixing colors and painting techniques. I have developed my own style by using different mediums of texture, paper, napkins, aluminum, gesso and glue. For painting I use knives, my fingers, quit tips, pencils, needles and of course brushes to achieve what I visualize in my mind. The final colors come gradually as I add them and add until it becomes the right color then, I know that it is completed. I am also more of an eclectic painter because I just don’t paint one style but focus on whatever I visualize in my imagination then transfer it into the canvas. Why do I paint? It helps me relax and visualize something beautiful then transfer into a canvas. Writing has always been a hobby of mine since I was young have been writing poetry, journaling and wrote a poetry book in 2006 which I am working on revising, and currently have 3 manuscripts ready to be published.
My Experience and Expertise
Why did I want to become a coach? I wanted to help others who had experienced trauma, domestic violence, who are single mothers who are raising children on their own. As a domestic violence survivor, and childhood trauma survivor; I have never considered myself a victim but always a survivor. I know firsthand what it is needed to overcome obstacles, negative mindset, trauma, and Abuse. I learned how to defeat negative self-image, mindset, and trauma all of which I was able to overcome with the help of counselors and life coaching. Resiliency has allowed me to overcome many hardships I had faced in my life. And it has become my mission to help others to build resiliency, become empowered and gain self-esteem to help them live their best lives. My life has been testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of God’s love, and I hope to inspire others who are facing similar difficulties. I experienced many difficulties throughout my life, but I am happy to say that throughout all these trials God provided me with the courage and hope that I needed. Life has not been easy for me; however, I gained a lot of wisdom from all of my experiences. I consider myself a truly fortunate individual. I am a survivor! As a result of all these experiences. I felt inspired to share what I have accomplished as a young mother, experiencing domestic violence, raising my children, learning about relationships, and accepting everything as a lesson learned.
